PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features.
This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has a rectangular
plan with a bay on the first floor below and upstairs dormer. The one-bay
facade is asymmetrical and consists of an offcenter glass-paned front entrance
flanked by fixed windows which glass in the enclosed porch running across the
entire front facade. Wide concrete steps with wrought-iron railing lead to
the front entrance under a decorative gable. The frame construction is
finished in white beveled clapboard and rests on a concrete foundation. The
gable roof is covered with beige asphalt shingles and features one gabled
and one shed-roofed dormer and overhanging eaves with exposed rafters.
Theres is one, central brick chimney, and an offset brick exterior chimney.
The axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street. Outbuildings include
a garage of similar materials with a gable roof.

Research in the sources consulted in this survey has not yielded any
significant historical information concerning persons or events
associated with this property.
This structure qualifies as a contributing element within a potential historic
district due to its association with the residential aspect of the Progressive
Phase of Bozeman's historic/architectural development.

George Higgins may have been the original owner. E . J . Potter
