One of the several houses in the district built in the mid- 1920 ' s
to the early 1930 ' s on a site for which a sewer permit was signed
by George P . Dier in 1919 , this house has the gabled entry vestibule
typical of many of those houses . The house is one . of the few
brick veneer buildings in the district , and a fine example of
Depression . period residential design . 0 . Wilfred Monson , an assistant
professor at Montana State College , and his wife Marie Monson , are
listed as living here in the 1933 city directory , and may have
built the house .
