Matt Cohen , surveyor
One of several virtually identical Bungalows built in the ( Bozeman
area in the ) late 19 ' teens by local carpenter John D . Wherling , a
former Bozeman Police Chief , this house is a fine example of
a common eaves front , Bungalow house type . Located prominently on
a corner lot , diagonally opposite the northwestern corner of
Cooper Park , the large house makes a strong corner boundary for
this end of the district . Wherling ' s other house in the district ,
715 W . Koch , is located just two lots to the east ( see statement
of significance ) .
In 1927 , Lincoln J . MacDonald , a salesman at the Franch Motor Co . ,
was living here . Mrs . Margaret MacDonald was the resident here
in 1933 .
