One of the several houses of above average architectural
significance ( relative to the district) which faces Cooper Park ,
this house may be the work of Elmer L . Bartholomew , the most
important early 20th century builder in this district . The house
closely resembles three houses built by Bartholomew , probably
in the same year : 507 , 515 and 523 W . Babcock St .
In 1927 John Dexter , employed in the publicity department of
Montana State College , was living here with his wife , Ruth Dexter .
