PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials. Discuss significant architectural features. This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has an irregular plan with a proch spanning the front and one side, supported by turned wood posts and railing and sitting on a diagonal wood base. The asymmetrical facade consists of an offset front entrance with 1/1 and 3/1 double-hung windows. There are two bay windows , one on the front facade and one in the corner of the entrance bay. The frame construction is finished in 42" beveled siding with dentiled fish-patterned shingles in the gable ends. There is a 20" vertical wainscoting on the main floor porch. The structure rests on a rubble (limestone or sandstone) foundation. The elaborate configuration of gable roofs are covered with cedar shingles and feature shed-roofed and gabled dormers and a central brick chimney. ThecKis of the roof is perpendicular to the street. The original form of the house is largely intact except for an attached flat-roofed garage on the side rear. This structure qualifies as a contributing element within a potential historic district due to its association with the residential aspect of the Civic Phase of Bozemants historic/architectural development.
