PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials. Discuss significant architectural features.
This two-and-one-half story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with
a column-supported wrap-around porch across the front and one side. The front
portion features two gable overdoors above the two main entrances and a spindle
railing between. On the west side , the first floor has a curved bay with a
decorative band at the top and two scroll pieces under eaves flanking the bay.
The front facade is symmetrical and features 1/1 double-hung and fixed windows.
The frame construction is finished in shingles in the gable ends and 4" bevel
siding. It sits on a concrete and cut stone foundation. The gable roof is
covered with ligth green asphalt shingles, and features two brick chimneys.
There is a porch off the southwest corner of the second floor with a wood railing
and trim decorating the top. The axis of the main line of the roof is perpendicular
to the street.

A fine , well -preserved example of the Colonial Revival style ,
especially notable in this district for its large size , the
foundation of this house appears on the 1890 Sanborn map , while
the completed house is shown on the 1891 Sanborn Map . The house is
a very significant element in this streetscape , which is very
early .relative to the district .
In 1927 , Mrs . Cora E . Jackson , widow of Harvey Jackson , was the
resident here . No Harvey is listed in the 1916- 17 directory .
