Olive 1985 revision Matt Cohen , surveyor The most striking example in Bozeman of a house built directly from specifications from a design in Fred T . Hodgson ' s mail order house pattern catalogue , this house is an excellent example of the Queen Anne style . It was recently converted from a multiple unit dwelling back to a single family residence , and refurbished to its present excellent condition . The rendering of "House Pattern No . 1096" in the above catalogue is identical to this house down to the last detail , with the exception of the porch pediment , on the house but not the drawing , and the two chimneys in the drawing but not on the house ( the latter may have been removed ) . Three houses outside the district , 412 , 416 and 420 S . Tracy Ave . are quite similar , though considerably simplified in design . In 1927 , Armour M. McGinlay , a rancher , was residing here , possibly as a tenant . Bibliography Sanborn Maps , 1904 ( house appears ) , 1890 ( house not shown ) . City directories : 1916- 17 , 1927 , pp . 97 , 187
