Olive 1985 revision Matt Cohen , surveyor A fine example of the Queen Anne style despite the removal of a tall , pyramidal tower roof , this houses is perhaps of greatest significance merely as a part of a 19th century streetscape , in this predominantly early 20th century historic district . As seen in the 1898 bird ' s eye view of the city , the house was originally as example of a quite common Queen Anne style building type - a gabled , " L" -shaped block wrapping around two sides of a square plan , central tower. The original tower roof has given way to the present , non-contributing shed roof . In the 1920 ' s the house was the residence of James A. Stafford . Stafford , in the 1922 and 1925 city directories , was listed as an employee of the Story Motor Supply Co . , and in the 1927 directory as the proprietor of the Electric Bakery at 136 E . Main . The stucco that covers the first floor may have been added after 1900 .
