PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, i noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials. Discuss significant architectural features. This one-and-one-half story single-family residence has an irregular plan with a wrap-around front porch under a hipped roof. There are round stucco columns supporting the roof, arched and decorated. There is also an enclosed rear porch i with a hipped roof. The two-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an off-set front entrance with 2/2 and 1/1 double-hung, and fixed windows, one with beveled, leaded glass and the other with a diamond pattern pane. The frame construction is finished in stucco and rests on a concrete foundation covered with stucco. The gable roof is covered with cedar shingles and features two stucco chimneys. Olive , this typical , tri -gabled , vernacular house is associated with the general city expansion following the arrival of the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1883 . It is a significant element in this quite early streetscape in the district . The stucco , which covers the walls and porch , was probably added in the early 20th century , and is a significant feature of this house , which retains high integrity.
