Olive 1985 revision Matt Cohen , surveyor One of the several fine examples of 19th century vernacular architecture on W . Olive Street , this house retains much original detailing , though a remodeling of the entrance presently in progress is seriously compromising the overall architectural significance . That remodeling has included the installation of a new , metal door , and reconstruction of the porch . The house may have been built by John M . Wylie , a rancher who is listed at this address from 1904 through 1927 , and possibly later . As seen on the 1891 Sanborn Map , this house was the westernmost on W . Olive Street when built .
