Unusual in design because of its side entrance , and
asymmetrical first floor gable front fenestration , which
includes a canted corner , this Colonial Revival style pattern
book house makes an important contribution to the street-
s cape .
It was probably occupied beginning in 1917 by Mrs . Ellen Jump .
By 1927 , F . L . Benepe Jr . , a rancher who was probably the
son of prominent Bozeman businessman Frank L . Benepe , had
moved into this house from a ranch eight miles south of the
city . In that year , he was listed as having an office at
19 S . Willson Ave . - in Frank L . Benepe ' s large business
block ( see 104 W . Main St . ) .
Note : a connection through marriage between the Jump and
Benepe families may have relevance to the history of this
j house - see 404 W . Olive .
