Extensive alterations to this structure have not only
reduced this building to non-contributing status , but make
estimation of the construction date very difficult . Though
a building appears on this site on the 1912 Sanborn Map , this one
may be a later structure , built to house a grocery run by James
Fitzgerald Jr . , which is listed in the 1927 city directory .
James Fitzgerald Jr. lived at 25 E . Story , while James
Fitzgerald Sr. lived next door , at 404 W . Curtiss .
Martin V . Huffman lived in this building , or in the house
on this site , in the 19 ' teens , presumably until his death in
1923 .
