A small grocery store built by Mrs . Jennie Bartz shortly
after the death of ther husband , George Bartz , this c . 1932
Classic Cottage , oriented gable end to the street , was
probably built as both a residence and store - the
residence entrance in the west eave side , and the store
entrance in the south gable end . George Bartz had
previously run a grocery store at 27 S . Tracy Ave . , and
lived in 224 S . 6th Ave - a large brick house adjacent to
this building to the west , that he may have built . Upon his
death in 1932 , his wife apparently moved into this small
building .
