Closer in appearance to a farmhouse than an urban dwelling ,
this 3 x 2 bay , 12 story Classic Cottage , which has a
central , gable wall dormer , is well preserved despite the
asbestos shingle sheathing . Even the Queen Anne style
entry porch remains intact .
In 1927 , six people were boarding here : George E . Cass ,
who ran a carpet cleaning business on N . Bozeman Ave . ,
I his wife Amelia Cass , V . L . Yarson , Mrs . Denise Dusal , John
P . Lewis , an assistant professor at Montana State College ,
and his wife , Marguerite R. Lewis .
According to the 1919 Sewer Permit , the house once had
an associated barn , on the alley at rear .
