PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features. This detached two-and-one-half story single-family residence has a square plan with a hipped roof front porch with gable overdoor supported by wood posts with latticework, and a projecting back porch. The one-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an off-center front entrance with oval glass and fixed and 1/1 double-hung windows with cornice trim. The frame construc- tion is finished in white beveled siding with corner trim and red shingles in the gable ends. There are also new shakes on the bottom half of the back porch. The structure rests on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered with brown asphalt shingles and features a gabled dormer, and shingled arches inside the gable ends meeting returning eaves. The axis of the roof is parallel to the street. Outbuildings include a shed-roofed garage with dropped siding. r HISTORIiAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Research in the sources consulted in this survey has not yielded any significant historical information concerning persons or events associated with this property. This structure qualifies as a contributing element within a potential historic district due to Its association with the residential aspect of the Civic Phase of Bozeman 's historic/architectural development. The historic integrity of this property has been retained due to the survival of original design and materials and continuity of use, setting and location. Koch 1985 revision Matt Cohen , surveyor Similar in general to "House Design No . 1095" in Hodgson ' s mail order house pattern catalog ( see appendix) , this simple house is one of only two in the district that display elements of the shingle style . It is also significant as the central element in a cohesive row of five pattern book houses , the others being 401 , 407 , 417 and 421 W . Koch . In 1927 , Glenn C .
