Like 408 W . Koch next to it , this simple Cape is typical of
the modest pattern book house designs widely available in
the mid- 1920 ' s through the 1930 ' s . Like the rest of this
side of the block , this house may have been built as part
of a speculative development of R . A. Putzier . The builder
may have been William C . Smith .
Charles E . Potter , the resident here in 1933 and listed as
"State leader , Extension Service , Montana State College" in
the directory of that year , may have been the original
occupant . The 1931 directory does not list this address .
