This detached one-story single-family residence has a rectangul.ar plan with a recessed front entry under a mock gable roof and an attached shed-roof garage. The two-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an offset front entrance with 1/1 double-hung windows and an 18-pane window in the gable end. The frame construction is finished in bevel siding with shingles in the gable ends. The structure rests on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered with grey asphalt shingles and features a finial with detail in front. There are overhanging eaves with exposed rafters and knee braces, and a central brick chimney. The axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Koch 1985 revision Matt Cohen , surveyor A fine example of the Bungalow style , this house displays a diversity of surface textures , and what may be an original attached garage . The house is very similar to 402 W . Koch . Like the rest of the houses on this side of the block , this one may have been part of a speculative development by R . A. Putzier .
