PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features.
This detached one-story single-family residence has a rectangul.ar plan with
a recessed front entry under a mock gable roof and an attached shed-roof
garage. The two-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an offset front
entrance with 1/1 double-hung windows and an 18-pane window in the gable
end. The frame construction is finished in bevel siding with shingles in the
gable ends. The structure rests on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is
covered with grey asphalt shingles and features a finial with detail in front.
There are overhanging eaves with exposed rafters and knee braces, and a
central brick chimney. The axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street.

A fine example of the Bungalow style , this house displays
a diversity of surface textures , and what may be an
original attached garage . The house is very similar to
402 W . Koch . Like the rest of the houses on this side
of the block , this one may have been part of a speculative
development by R . A. Putzier .
