This well preserved pattern book house makes an important
contribution to the historic integrity of Cooper Park .
The house appears to have been based on "House Design No .
1061" in Fred T . Hodgson ' s mail order house pattern catalog ,
Practical Bungalows and Cottages for Town and Country ( see
appendix) .
From 1910 to 1918 and probably longer , the house was
occupied by Charles S . Dearborn , a professor of mechanical
engineering at Montana State College . By 1927 James S .
Simpson , probably the next owner , was living here .
Simpson worked for the Bozeman Meat Market and Central Meat
Market .
