Matt Cohen , surveyor
A very well preserved example of a vernacular , ornate
shingle work and gable windows , is an important element in this
streetscape of seven small , turn of the century houses .
The house is similar to several designs in Fred T . Hodgson ' s
mail order house pattern book , such as design numbers 1032 ,
1038 and 1076 . This house was clearly intended to relate
to its corner location by the design and placement of the
` entrance , bay window and porch .
In 1904 , Clyde Corbly , Deputy County Treasurer , was living
here , and may have been the original occupant . By 1910 he
had moved to W . Lamme St . In 1927 , Elliott R . Hollis ,
assistant cashier at the Commercial National Bank , was the
resident here .
