F H YSI CAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials. Discuss significant architectural features.
This property has a rectangular plan with a square tower at the entry with
a notched parapet. The one-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of
1/1 double-hung .windows at the daylight basement level and fixed rectangular
stained glass windows on the south. There are large-two-story stained
glass windows on the west facade with equilateral lancet arches over the
windows. The brick construction is in the running bond pattern and consists
of corbeled stretcher over soldier, over corbeled header. The gable roof
is covered with light grey asphalt shingles and features a small dormer
with stained glass insets and a large round ventilator on the gable peak.

This property is significant because the First BaptIs hurch was an early . ,
part ct the._Bozeman religious community., Organizing 1 M83, the Baptists
first built on East Babcock and, later oq the N.W. , C of Black and Olive.
!'rider the leadership of Reverend O.P. Bishop, its present church w:as built in
Iona
This structure qualifies as a contributing element within a potential historic
district due to its association with the institutional aspect of the' Civic
Phase of Bozeman "s historic/architectural development.
