PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features. This two-story school structure has a square plan with a rectangular addition to the rear, and a three-arched projecting entry bay over the wide concrete steps. The one-bay facade is symmetrical and consists of the three entrances with 6/6 double-hung windows and several energy retrofit windows which have been added to the original structure. The brick construction sits on a limestone foundation and features a flat built-up roof with a smaller gable roof right in the center of the flat roof. i HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structurelsite and surrounding area lend the property significance. This property is significant because this residence is associated with a person important in Bozeman history, Fred F. Willson. Son of General Lester Willson, an early Bozeman resident, Willson was born in 187 He attended Columbia university in architecture and studied He first practiced with C.S. Haire in Helena. In his large Bozeman practice from 1910-1956, he designed many public commercial buildings and residential buildings as well . This structure Is potentially eligible for the National Register because of its historical associations and because of its architectural significance. INTEGRITY: Assess the degree to which the structure/site,and surrounding area accurately convey the historical associations of the property. The historic integrity of this property has been retained due to the survival of original design and materials and continuity of use, setting and _location.
