SUBJECT: Authorize the City Manager to sign Task Order 18 with Dowl to
conduct right-of-way and property research and to prepare an
appraisal for City property located at 2125 North Rouse Avenue,
former site of the Heart of the Valley Humane Society.

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to sign Task Order 18 with Dowl to
conduct right-of-way and property research and to prepare an appraisal for City property located
at 2125 North Rouse Avenue, former site of Heart of the Valley Humane Society.
BACKGROUND: The City is considering options related to a land exchange with
Northwestern Energy along North Rouse Avenue, east of Industrial Drive and north of the
Gallatin Village Trailer Court. In preparation of bringing this matter to the Commission, the City
has asked Dowl to prepare an appraisal on this property. This task order is a part of the current
contract the City has in place with Dowl.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Fees for this service will not exceed $6,800.00. Fees will be paid for from
the Public Works Department’s operating budget.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
