Subject: Sidewalk in front of Lewis and Clark

Good Evening,
I’m writing in regards to the lack of snow removal in front of the Lewis and Clark Hotel on Main Street. From what
I have heard, I am not the first to e-mail in regards to this issue.
I think it’s completely unacceptable that this business has not been forced to clear the sidewalk boarding Main
Street. Home owners and other business owners are given tickets if snow is not removed in a timely manner after it
snows and yet this business is not being held to the same standards the rest of us are required to follow. If this
business is being fined, it’s not being followed up with or enforced well enough.
I walk that sidewalk back and forth 5+ days a week for work. I have almost fallen several times and I have
witnessed several other people almost fall. Imagine if an elderly person fell and broke their hip. I’m a fairly spry and
in shape adult, but I can not overlook the fact that neglecting to enforce the snow removal law with this business
could lead to someone getting seriously injured. If I fall on that stretch of sidewalk and am injured to the point of
needing medical attention or missing work, I will be forced to take legal action against the business and also the city
for not enforcing snow removal on a very busy main sidewalk.
I hope immediate action can be taken to ensure this business is compliant with the snow removal law for the safety
of the citizens of Bozeman.
Thank you for your time,
Skye
