HRDC and City of Bozeman:
HRDC has developed many programs and means of assistance for the
homeless. I would like to suggest one more. Would it be possible to
work out a space-sharing lease or buy arrangement with Bozeman Salvation
Army for a permanent facility for homeless?
Not that homeless need be invited or supported to live full time, but
that the facility operate many of the functions such as the Warming
Center that are now available part-time. It seems the Public Library
has taken the overflow and it is not the answer for so many in need.
We probably need all of the City's and HRDC's current means of
assistance as poverty increases in the county, state and country. But
cold weather makes me especially concerned for the discomfort and likely
fatalities of the homeless. It was zero here last night.
I hope the idea of space sharing has merit and deserves investigation.
