Bozeman/Gallatin County Administrators:
I know that the commissioners are all very busy, but since I did not send this petition directly
to them, but to your general address, I do want to confirm that the commissioners received the
attached petition.
Could you let me know that they did receive the petition?
By the way, the commissioners may be interested in knowing that this week/weekend is an
excellent time to take a quick drive on McIlhatten road to get a look at the road conditions
that concern us.
Thanks;
Dave Chambers

Dear Gallatin County and Bozeman City Commissioners:
For the past year I have been going daily to the Snowfill dog park on McIlhatten road, which
is a wonderful place for walking dogs. The city has recently upgraded the parking lot to hold
more cars, and added an additional entrance, in order to meet the increasing number of users
of the park. The park must be accessed from either the north or south by McIlhatten road,
which is now experiencing enough traffic by both dog park users, and an even greater number
of commuters transiting to/from Bozeman. As a result McIlhatten road, which is dirt, is
almost always in very poor condition.
I am informed that maintenance responsibility for the unpaved portion of McIlhatten road is
shared by both the city and county, hence this letter to both the Bozeman City and Gallatin
County commissioners. I have attached a petition that I placed at the dog park with the
signatures of 145+ users asking that McIlhatten road be paved. It is the only section of
unpaved road in this area, and has seen enough increase in traffic to warrant better care.
Sincerely;
David Chambers
