Dear Commissioners, I am writing to voice my concerns about the condition of the city streets. The main
streets are quite good. However, the side streets are terrible! I live on S. 10th Ave. The college is close and
so is an elementary school. With all the talk on the news about clearing the sidewalks of snow and ice, I
sure wish the streets were cleared as well. The intersection of S. 10th and College St. is awful! With all the
foot traffic in this area, you would think that people would not have to cross the street with fear of falling.
There are huge ruts of ice from lack of clearing the snow previously. About 3 years ago this was the same
case. I actually broke my nose trying to cross the street and fell. I was going to my work at Irving School at
lunch time. I believe if there were a system to properly clear all streets, this problem would be less
dangerous. Please let me know if anything can be done sooner rather than later. I am having a hip surgery
soon and am very scared to walk anywhere in my neighborhood. Mostly because of crossing the streets! I
was shocked to hear last night on the local news....the news women was explaining to people how to fall
the correct way! Are you kidding me? The news has to warn people how to fall?? Please try to help this
situation. Can they put snow melt on the intersections? Thanks for your consideration. Lori Watson
Thank you,
City Of Bozeman
