COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2851
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA DECLARING EAST GALLATIN RECREATION
AREA A DOG-FREE PARK.
WHEREAS, East Gallatin Recreation Area, which includes Glen
Lake, is a State Park maintained by the City of Bozeman; and
WHEREAS, East Gallatin Recreation Area is in close proximity
to undeveloped areas and thus provides significant habitat for
wildlife which includes domestic and wild waterfowl, deer, and an
occasional bear; and
WHEREAS, Glen Lake presently meets State standards for
swimming and other public use and is a family recreation area and
which said certification could be threatened by the presence of
dogs swimming in and wandering around the Lake; and
WHEREAS, this recreation area has experienced problems with
dogs disturbing the public's enjoyment of the area and with dogs
chasing and killing waterfowl; and
WHEREAS, the East Gallatin Recreation Area Task Force has
requested, and the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board recommends .

that East Gallatin Recreation Area be declared dog-free. J

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the 1

City of Bozeman, Montana, as follows:

That dogs are hereby prohibited in the East Gallatin
Recreation Area, and that the East Gallatin Recreation Area is
hereby declared a dog-free park.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of
Bozeman this 9th day of December
