COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2848 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND ASSISTANCE. WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman is interested in acquiring lands or developing outdoor recreational facilities on the following described project for the enjoyment of the citizenry of Bozeman and the State of Montana: Project Title: Burke property acquisition Total Estimated Cost: $102,000, plus local contributions, plus land exchange Brief Description of project: The project involves the acquisition of the Burke property by the City of Bozeman for use as parkland and open space. The property consists of a 41.928-acre parcel located along sourdough Ridge, inside the city limits, which has long been used by the community for a variety of outdoor recreation activities. and WHEREAS, Land and Water Conservation Fund financial assistance is required for the acquisition of said outdoor recreation facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of Bozeman, Montana: Section 1 That the project described above be authorized. section 2 And be it further resolved that said City of Bozeman make application to the Parks Division to seek Land and Water Conservation Fund financial assistance from the National Park Service in the amount of $50,000 in behalf of said City of Bozeman. Section 3 And, be it further resolved by the City of Bozeman that it certifies to the following: 1 - ~ - ,,::,:,;I,~:},,'r- ... .. , , l. That it will accept the terms and conditions set forth in the Land and Water conservation Fund Grants-in-Aid Manual and the official agreement between the applicant and the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, both of which will be a part of the project agreement for any grant awarded. 2. That it is in complete accord with the attached proposal and that it will carry out the acquisition in the manner described in the proposal and any plans or specifications attached thereto unless prior approval for any change has been received from the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks. 3. That, at the time of the application, it has committed to fund its share of the project and will initiate work within 90 days following federal approval of the project. 4 . That the project will be operated and maintained at the expense of said city of Bozeman for public outdoor recreation use. 5 . That it will maintain adequate financial records on the proposed project to substantiate claims for cost sharing. 6 . That open public participation was encouraged throughout the planning phases of the project. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the city of ..
