Per your request to provide additional information, our community needs assessment was provided to the Commission, this outlays the priority focus areas for HRDC over the next three years based on community survey, town hall discussions and stakeholder surveys. These priority areas include: Transportation, Child Care, Housing, Mental Health and Outreach/Education. While we aim to gain access to funding that we can invest where the greatest need is on an annual basis,we are including the year one goals from our strategic plan for Bozeman (for which funding has not been secured) and areas where we need funding for maintaining or expanding existing services in the current fiscal year. Current needs include: 1. Funding for space and staffing to provide shelter to guests at our Warming Center. We anticipate to exceed capacity more than 65 times this season and are actively seeking space and additional staffing to support a second location to ensure everyone has a safe, warm place to sleep. 2. Funding to sustain operations at our Fork&Spoon Kitchen (formerly our Community Cafe) to ensure this resource continues to provide for Bozeman. 3. Funding to maintain service navigation activities for our customers previously funded by our Community Services Block Grant. 4. Funding to maintain other activities where we anticipate reductions in federal funding (including housing, energy, senior programs and more). 5. Funding to respond to increased needs as a result of anticipated demand from our current customer base due to state budget reductions. p: 406.587.4486 e: hello@thehrdc.org a: 32 South Tracy Bozeman, Montana 59715 HRDC BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY Year one goals for the City of Bozeman in our Strategic Plan: a Transportation focused: 0 u • establish a North 7th Corridor Route to provide service directly between north end t businesses and downtown a • Partner with Montana Independent Living Project (MILP) and Gallatin Valley Taxi to create a voucher program for providing Galavan customers with rides after hours and on 0 Sundays Housing focused: o • Build, locate and occupy 5-10 Housing First Village Units (Test site) • Preserve Aspen Meadows apartments as an affordable housing resource for the City of Bozeman (44 units) • Construct 25 townhomes restricted for permanent affordability via land trust mechanism Child Care Focused: • Adjustment of income eligibility for Head Start services including the incorporation of mixed income child care centers • Increase current service delivery model for HRDC preschool services by expanding a percentage of current classrooms to the extended day model to provide families with increased hours of support Mental Health Focused: • Increase awareness about existing mental health resources • Help promote and maintain accuracy for existing 211 service and Crisis Text Line (741-741 mt) Outreach/Education Focused: • Develop an outreach plan that consistently and on an ongoing dependable schedule is listening and responding to the issues raised by public officials, stakeholders, partners and customers As always,we appreciate the opportunity to engage in conversations with you to create positive outcomes for Bozeman.
