Incident Narrative: Bozeman Firefighters received a call from a concerned citizen about pull
stations being activated at the high school and some type of system
malfunction. Firefighters found nothing wrong with the pull stations initially,
but discovered both alarm panels deactivated and one pull station totally
disabled. Firefighters attempted to contact the head custodian but he was not
available, A message was left for him to contact the fire department
immediately and the Fire Marshal was contacted and appraised of the situation.

Incident Narrative: The Bozeman Fire Department was dispatched to MSU's Nelson Story Tower
to a report of smoke on the 2nd. floor. During investigation a witness said that
they saw a female running from the 2nd. floor to the 3 rd. floor with a very wet
sleeping bag. Further investigation indicated that the dryer on the 2nd. floor
had been overloaded and then the sleeping bag was transfered to the 3rd. floor
dryer where it was found still in that dryer. Maintenance personnel were
notified.

Treatment by Bozeman Fire:
Bozeman firefighters responded to a report of a prisoner at the Gallatin County Detention Center who
had tried to commit suicide by hanging himself. Firefighters discovered a man lying on his back with the
staff from the detention center attending to him. Firefighters took the patient's vital signs and a patient
history from the staff. We also applied C-spine immobilization and assisted with the packaging and
loading of the patient for transport to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. A Bozeman firefighter rode with the
ambulance crew to the hospital to assist them.

Incident Narrative: Bozeman Firefighters responded to a report of a suspicious odor at the Federal
Building. There was a mild odor of petroleum product, possibly hydraulic
fluid or diesel fuel. After further investigation, it was discovered that there
had been a diesel fuel spill in the generator pit at the south end of the
building. Squad 1 was called to the scene and 50 pounds of absorhant was
spread on the fuel. The building maintenance supervisor was summoned to
evacuate the odor with the building exhaust system.

an upright vehicle was found in the barrow pit on Baxter Lane. The driver was not around. During our
investigation the driver returned. He stated that the vehicle had no forward gears, he was attempting to
back his way into town when he lost control of the vehicle. Bozeman Firefighters left him with the
Montana Highway Patrol to sort things out.

reporting that the alarm was showing a trouble signal. Upon investigation we
determined that the problem was causes due to the fact that students had hung
crepe paper from the detector. System reset when the paper was removed. We

Incident Narrative: Bozeman firefighters responded to the report of a uncontroled grass fire West
of Emily Dickenson School. Upon arrival firefighters found apcoximately 10
acres of stubble field burning. The bum permit holder had the situation well
under control.

burn permit. Upon arrival, Firefighters found the occupant extinguishing the
