To Bozeman School District Trustees — From Richard E Lund, 319 N th Ave , Dec 10, 2017
There now seems to be four new additions proposed that will be affecting auto, bus and
“people” traffic flow exterior to the BHS building — noted as an auditorium, a student pickup
and drop off area, a student commons and now a new football stadium north of the softball
fields. It would seem wiser, safer and cheaper to me to develop a comprehensive master plan
to handle the people-vehicle traffic before even thinking about quickly laying artificial turf in
coordination with such at the new highschool and at MSU (I refer to the Dec 2 article in the
Boz Chron).
My house and driveway is immediately across the street from the north exit of the western
parking lot (319 N 15th Ave). I see the daily traffic problems, morning and afternoons, on
ordinary school days. Its my mail box that gets taken out from “too-zoomy” students. And
then on track meets, ball games and music events, the big diesel busses add to the car and
walking traffic. I can only imagine the similar problems the school neighbors on the east side
are facing.
