Incident Narrative: Bozeman Firefighters responded to the scene of a grass fire. During
extinguishment of the fire, Bozeman Police notified firefighters that a young
boy had been seen fleeing the scene of the fire. Although the probable cause is
intentional, the actual cause remains undetermined.

transport.

Incident Narrative: The owner of a moble home called the Bozeman fire department and asked if
we could respond to her address and check out a smoke smell. It was explained
to her that she lived in an area that was covered by Rae fire department, and
not the Bozeman fire department. The Bozeman fire personnel notified the
dispatcher to page Rae fire and then responded to the location as a back-up.
When Rae fire personnel arrived to investigate the smell; Bozeman fire
personnel were released.

Incident Narrative: The Bozeman Fire Department responded to a reported propane smell in the
600 block of East Tamarack. When they arrived they found that there was a
strong smell of asphalt in the air. They also observed a train sitting at the
station with several tanker cars present. As the train pulled out and the wind
shifted the smell disappeared. It was beleaved that the asphalt smell from the
train was mistaken for a propane smell.

Incident Narrative: Bozeman fire responded to a call of a grass fire out of control. Upon our arrivial
we found a grass fire about 118 acre in size.Due to open water on our side of
the fire we had problems accessing the fire with our trucks.A combination of
hand tool work and water from the booster lines brought the fire under control.
A total of about 1/2 acres where burned.

THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY SPONT ANIOUS COMBUSTION IN A

Incident Narrative: AN EMPLOYEE AT THE SERVICE STATION CALLED THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT ON THE BUSINESS LINE AND ASKED IF THE
DEPARTMENT WOULD RESPOND TO HIS LOCATION AND
INVESTIGATE A FIRE THAT THEY HAD HAD. HE EXPLAINED THAT
THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE
WITH A PORT ABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND THAT HE WOULD
FEEL BETI'ER IF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WOULD CHECK IT OUT.
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED WITH AN ENGINE AND TWO
MEN TO INVESTIGATED THE INCIDENT. THE FIRE PERSONNEL
FOUND THAT THE OWNER HAD INDEED ACTED QUICKLY USING
HIS OWN FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. DAMAGE
WAS LIMITED TO THE COST OF A GOOD WASH JOB.

assist in the extrication of a women trapped in an elevator. We where able to
free the women. She was experiencing a claustrophobic reaction, we monitored

Inn. The alarm system would not reset. Employees had no knowledge of the
system and could not locate the Manager. The system remains inoperable and
employees were instructed to continue efforts to locate the Manager and
attempt to identify the alarm company. An emergency guidline emergency
manual was recommended to be initiated.

Incident Narrative: Bozeman Police reported that a unknown material was possibly contaminating
the ground of a parking lot. Firefighters responded to investigate and
determined that the material was a product known as Burkaline. The product
is used to deoderize outhouses and is bio-degradable. Investigation on the
property found a garbage dumpster filled with other potentially hazadous
materials. The previous renter was contacted and asked to properly dispose ot
the products.

PERSONNEL FOUND THE VICTIM SITTING ON THE FLOOR IN THE REAR OF THE BAR. THE
VICTIM WAS TREATED FOR A STAB WOUND IN illS LOWER LEFT QUADRANT. DURING
BFD'S ATTEMPED TO CONTACT HALLS AMBULANCE THEY LEARNED THAT HALLS WAS
ALREADY ON THE SCENE AND ATIENDING TO TWO OTHER VICTIMS FOUND IN THE
ALLEY IN BACK OF THE BAR. ALL THREE VICTIMS HAD BEEN INJURED AND WERE
TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT.
