Concisely, accurately, and completely describe the property and alterations with dates. Number the buildings and features
to correlate with the Site Map.
The building is a one-story commercial structure with a rectangular plan and flat roof. The roof extends over the east side
entrance and is supported by five square wood columns. The one-bay façade is asymmetrical and consists of a glass
paned side entrance (on eas) with store front windows and glass panels. The concrete block construction rests on a
concrete foundation. the flat built-up roof has vertical wood on the projected eaves. The axis of the roof is perpendicular to
Mendenhall Street. Interior wall on west side is common to east side of building at 524 E Mendenhall St. A detached metal
business sign supported by metal posts is situated near the north edge of the lot off of the northeast corner of the building.

Present building does not appear on latest 1959 revision of Sanborn Fire Insurance Map for Bozeman. City Directory for
Bozeman 1970 does not list an address of 544, however the 1971 Directory (pg. 80) lists the business Pierce's Flooring at
the address. From this limited information, it is estimated that the property was built immediately prior to 1971. Recent
preparation for painting of the property's business sign indicates earlier "ghosting" for the business name of "Pierce
Flooring".
