Concisely, accurately, and completely describe the property and alterations with dates. Number the buildings and features
to correlate with the Site Map.
The building is an attached/common wall commercial structure of complex "T" form with two stories on the east mass
(running north-south) and one-story on the west mass (running east-west). The south projection has office spaces on the
second-floor that overhangs a covered patio/entry way to the building below. The building has multiple office and
commercial units. Building is of recent construction/remodel with stucco exterior finish and metal clad commercial windows
and doors. Junction between the two-story mass on the east and the one-story mass on the west has shed-roof glass
pane pent structure. Building has flat built up roof. It is apparent that none of the original service station building exists
today, although some of the structure may have been incorporated into the new building
Presumed to be concrete on a concrete pad.

The Polk City Directory for Bozeman 1940 (pg 172) indicates the original commercial building was under construction that
year. The 1942 City Directory (pg 176) lists the property as "Huskey Service Station."
The 1927 and earlier Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps shows various attached frame buildings on this and adjacent
properties. These early buildings were demolished prior to 1940 to construct the late 20th century service station building
that formed the footprint to the current remodeled building that exists today. The 1943 revision of the 1927 Sanborn Fire
Insurance Map shows a detached rectangular "Auto Service" station at the address. This initial building most likely formed
the footprint that is now comprised by the west projection of the building. The 1957 revision of the 1927 map shows a one-
story brick "L" shape "Tire Service" building with "Gas & Oil" service station on the south side.
The ca. 1942 Aerial Photo of Bozeman Main Street Area/North, shows the subject mid-century service station with original
gas pump service island beneath a flat overhanging roof attached to the south side of the building.
A post-1959 photograph shows the original structure used as Long's Big-O Tire Company with a one-story building and
single vehicle service bay on the east that is taller, conforming to the two-story addition that exists as the east mass with
southern projection that exists today.

The building that exists today is essentially a modern structure that follows the form of the original layout of the building
foundation. The original building was a one-story brick structure and is now a one- and two-story stucco office building.
The present building holds no significant elements of integrity related to the historic design, setting, materials,
workmanship, feeling, or association to recommend it as a candidate for nomination to the National Register of Historic
Places.
