Number the buildings and features to correlate with the Site Map. The building is a large complex medical office building occupying, with parking areas, one entire city block, bounded by N. Willson Ave on the west, N. Tracy Ave. on the east, W. Villard St. on the north, and W. Beall St. on the south. The original building complex forms two main masses, one is an attachment of two one-story rectangular plan wood-frame forms located on the south side of the lot. The one-story rectangular mass has an asymmetrical façade on the west and asymmetrical elevations on the south, east, and east end of the north. One-story mass is frame and wood post construction with plywood exterior and fixed windows of various sizes. Interior of two one-story masses is separated by fully enclosed terra-cotta tile walkways. Exterior also has large panels of flagstone veneer. One-story mass has flat built-up roof with overhang above perimeter walkway and entrances on all sides. Roof is hidden by false mansard roof clad in corrugated metal siding. Projecting to north from the one-story mass is a three-story rectangular massed building. The second large mass of the building, located on the northwest corner of the block is a three-story rectangular office complex. Building is constructed of pre-formed concert panels with vertical faux buttresses or ribs enclosing fixed windows for each office unit. South wall of large mass is attached to north wall of south one-story mass. Large mass on north has large elevator and cooling structure on top of flat built-up roof. Base of building below level of first floor has flagstone veneer beneath line of prefab concrete panels. A small wood-frame one-story projection is located on the north end of the main one-story mass, adjacent to the east wall of the larger 3-story mass. Concrete. Willson Ave. between W. Villard St. and W. Beall St. and 4 substantial brick dwellings fronting N. Tracy Ave. in the same block. Polk City Directory for Bozeman for 1966 (pg 69) lists no business occupants for a property at 300 N. Willson Ave. The City Directory for 1967 (pg.123-124) indicates numerous medical business at the address. Available information indicates that the historic homes in the entire block were purchased and removed/moved sometime between 1961 and 1966, with construction of the first forms of the Medical Arts Building prior to its initial occupancy in 1967. During the early 1980s, the three-story concrete projection at the north end of the lot was constructed. The building was built in the lot immediately north of the original Bozeman Deaconess Hospital to serve patients and staff, prior to building of the new Deaconess Hospital at the southeast edge of town.
