Concisely, accurately, and completely describe the property and alterations with dates. Number the buildings and features
to correlate with the Site Map.
The building is a detached 1-1/2 story single family residence with a rectangular plan and an offset gable roofed enclosed
front entry vestibule. The façade is compose of one symmetrical bay with center entry door placed in a projected gable-
end vestifule. The end-gable roof with ridge line that runs east/west, parallel to street is steep pitched. Wood frame
construction is covered with 12 inch hardboard siding and. There is an exterior brick chimney on west elevation extending
above the ridge of the roof.
The foundation is formed concrete with basement.

Roof of main mass has end-gables on the west and east elevations. Front entry vestibule and rear projection end-gables
with ridge-lines running north-south. The roof is covered with modern composition shingles.

The building in the same location, configuration, and orientation first appears on the Bozeman Sanborn Fire Insurance Map
dated 1927/revised 1943. The building does not appear on the 1927 map. The 1935 Polk City Directory for Bozeman does
not list any residence for 541 E. Babcock St. The first reference to such a reference in the City Directory is in 1937 (pgs.
27, 170), listing Jacob Barer as the owner/occupant.
