Concisely, accurately, and completely describe the property and alterations with dates. Number the buildings and features
to correlate with the Site Map.
The building is a two-story commercial office buiuling with a simple rectangular rectangular plan. The building is
constructed of concrete block on a concrete foundation, presumably with a concrete slab first floor. The façade on the
north side is finished with stucco and horizontal wood siding. The upper portion of the north façade has a false-front
parapet wall with false gable roof-line hiding the flat roof behind. Modern fixed and smaller non-fixed windows are on
façade's first and second floors. The first floor façade has three unequally spaced fixed windows to the left side of a single
entry door. Façade wall has framed rectangular awning projections above first-floor windows and entry door. West and
south exterior walls, and upper portion of east wall are unfinished concrete block. The building has a flat built-up roof.
Interior wall on east side is common to one-story west side of building at 544 E Mendenhall St.
Concrete, presumably with a concrete slab floor.

The building at this address does not appear on the most recent 1959 revision of the Sanborn Fire Insurance Map for
Bozeman. All Sanborn maps show detached single-family wood dwellings on the south side of the 500 block of E
Mendenhall St.
The August 1984 Historic Property Form for 524 E Mendenhall notes a detached on-story single-family residence that was
later demolished or moved prior to constructing the existing two-story commercial office building. The 1986 Polk City
Directory for Bozeman (pg. 128) lists the property at the address as "vacant". The 1987 Directory (pg. 118) lists the
occupant of the building (presumably the current structure) as "Cabinet Specialists, Inc." From this limited documentary
information it is most likely that the existing building was constructed immediately prior to 1987, following the removal of all
of the historic dwellings remaining in the early 1980s on the south side of the 500 block of E Mendenhall St.
