Concisely, accurately, and completely describe the property and alterations with dates. Number the buildings and features
to correlate with the Site Map.
The building is a detached one-story office building built in a rectangular plan. A recessed corner entrance is enclosed in
glass and located in the northwest corner of the building. The building is finished with large bricks in stacked bond with
stuccoed/exposed aggregate piers. Building has metal and glass commercial entry doors and metal framed fixed windows.
Building has a cantilever covered walkway with boxed eave covered in metal siding on the west side. Roof is flat and built-
up located behind an upper parapet wall veneered with exposed aggregate stucco. Building sits on a concrete foundation,
presumably with concrete floor. Historic records indicate original roof was constructed in a wood-truss form to allow for the
original open floor plan. Dome shape of trussed roof is apparent from street. Building is presumably built on a concrete
slab.

The brick building with wood-truss roof and same dimention/location appears on the 1956-57 and 1960 Sanborn Fire
Insurance Maps (sheet 14). Earlier 1943 Sanborn Map shows a smaller single-story dwelling on the same lot.
The 1954 Polk City Directory (pg. 221) lists the Safeway Grocery Store at 215 W. Mendenhall St., Joseph Wantuick Mgr.
The 1950 Polk Directory (pg. 279) lists the address for the Bozeman Safeway as 210 E and 119 W. Main St. So, it can be
inferred that the subject building was built sometime between 1951 and 1954.
