The building is a simple deatached one-and-one-half story single-family residence built on a rectangular plan with a shed- roofed porch across the front supported by four simple round wood columns. The stick-frame construction is sheathed with drop-cove wood siding. The main front 1 1/2-story mass faces W. Lamme Street and is perpendicular to the street. A one- story "L" projection with gable roof extends to the south. West elevation of rear projection has a covered porch supported by two simple round columns. Concrete. Foundation Cross-gable roof finished in modern composition shingles. Simple slight eave projections. Roof Front porch with shed-roof extends almost entire width of façade on north. Smaller shed-roof covered porch at west elevation of rear projecting "L" at southwest corner of building. The structure, in the same location and configuration appears on the 1889 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map for Bozeman, but is not shown on the 1886 map. The 1984 historic property survey form indicates that the original owner of the property was a Lorena M. Lewis. The 1902 Po;k City Directory for Bozeman, pg. 152, shows a Marcus T. Lewis, a painter, residing at the residence. From 1904, to 1916, the city directory shows various boarders and residents at the property. Research of readily available sources did not yield specific historical information concerning persons or events associated with this property.
