Dear City Commissioners,
The Historic Preservation Advisory Board recommends that the commission amend the vision statement
proposed in the strategic plan to include the importance of preserving the history of Bozeman as we
continue to grow as a community.
A previous draft of point #4 from December, 2016 included "....preserving the character and historic fabric
of our downtown and residential neighborhoods...." but this has since been removed in subsequent drafts.
As a board we feel that including this in our vision statement will show our community that we are focused
on preserving and promoting the history of Bozeman for future generations.
We thank the commission for revisiting the vision statement and including the city's focus on historic
preservation in the strategic plan.
