Public Notice- Reference 4149 Clydesdale Court CUP, File 17-469
As a current home owner of both a home and a lot in Baxter Meadows West,
I am writing to protest the approval of the CUP for 4149 Clydesdale Court.
The property is in a neighborhood designated as single family housing, and
approval of this permit would essentially convert this property into a duplex
without going through the zoning and legal process required by the city or the
HOA. Aside from the obvious decrease in value of neighboring properties due
to increased parking, traffic and loss of their status as a single family home
neighborhood, it sets a precedence for further overcrowding when more
people follow suit all over Bozeman. Furthermore, allowing multiple families to
co-own a single family property circumvents the property tax assessment that
a multi family property would be required to pay to Gallatin County. This also
unfairly and illegally increases the tax burden on all other property owners as
this household with 10 individuals utilizes a disproportionate amount of public
services relative to their "single family home" tax assessment. I hope that the
city will honor the zoning the way it was legally recorded and protect my
investment, and to come to the conclusion that this issue has far reaching
implications that goes well beyond letting some nice families live together.
