Good day! I am writing to you about the request before the Committee
regarding the two unrelated families' purchase of the home on Clydesdale.
I am a board member of the Baxter Meadows Phase One HOA. I am inopposition to the purchase for the following reasons:
1. Baxter Meadows is a mixed-income neighborhood which has been
great for our little community. We have lower cost housing availableto prospective buyers, who cannot yet afford a larger home in the
area zoned as RS. Several of our current home owners in the RS area
of Baxter Meadows, bought earlier homes in the more affordable area
of our community and then traded up.
2. In our HOA covenants RS is clearly designated as a single family
area. By all reasonable definitions, single family means one family
related by blood or marriage.
3. Currently the prospective owners have 4 cars, which means that atany given time one or more may be parked on our HOA owned and
maintained street which violates our covenants. Already other
residents on Clydesdale have complained about the cars parked on
the street, creating a hazard and disrupting a quiet cul de sac.
4. Those of us who live in an RS zone have worked hard all our adult
lives to save and own a home in this neighborhood. We have all
bought and sold previous homes, moving up each time to a more
expensive home. We bought in this particular section of our HOAbecause we believed that our single family homes meant just that.
5. My husband and I have great fears that by allowing the purchase by
two unrelated families living in one single family home, that we open
the flood gate to others who want to do the same, thus destroyingthe future value of our specific area of Baxter Meadows.
I respectfully submit that the intended two family buyers consider
purchasing homes in other areas of our HOA...ones that they can each
more easily afford. My husband and I will be attending CUP hearing onMonday, November 20, 2017.
