Taylor - 4149 Clydesdale Court CUP for Cooperative HousingFrom:Chris Saunders To:Brenda Sweeney Subject:FW: 4149 Clydesdale Court File 17-469 Hearing November 20th at 6pm Date:Thursday, November 16, 2017 10:58:10 PM     From: Paige Taylor [mailto:paigettaylor@gmail.com]  Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2017 10:29 PM To: Chris Saunders <csaunders@BOZEMAN.NET> Subject: 4149 Clydesdale Court File 17-469 Hearing November 20th at 6pm Dear Chris, I am writing to express the concern of my husband and I who recently built a home in BaxterMeadows West. I have lived in Bozeman since 1982 and have seen many changes to our wonderful city. It is not surprising why many want to live here and in our neighborhoodspecifically. My husband and I have lived in Baxter Meadows since 2008, when we purchased a home on Ferguson Ave. While living there, the zoning was changed on the east side of ourneighborhood from B2 to B4, resulting in the addition of many apartments contained in massive buildings and a tremendous increase in traffic throughout the neighborhood. Thiszoning change significantly altered the desirability of our neighborhood. It was because of this change in zoning and the negative after effects that we sold our home in search of aproperty that would be protected from zoning changes, thus preserving our property value and maintaining the single family atmosphere we were seeking. This CUP is concerning becauseshould it be approved, it opens the door for other changes to our zoning. We are asking that the city deny the CUP sought in order to simply maintain the single family zoning that isalready in existence. We purchased our home in this area in order to avoid the changes we experienced in our former home as the result of zoning changes after the fact. When we madea significant investment into our home and the city of Bozeman, we did so with the expectation that there would be an adherence to the current zoning rules. We understand theneed for affordable housing and believe that our neighborhood, and the zoning changes we have already undergone, have contributed significantly to alleviate the affordable housingburden.
