Dear mayor Taylor
I am a 17 year old senior at Belgrade High School and a huge baseball fan. I was born in
Bozeman and I've lived in the same house my entire life. I think it is high time that Minor League
Baseball is brought to the Gallatin Valley.
Bozeman is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. And rightfully so! It shows the
best of what our beautiful state has to offer. People come from all over to enjoy the many
activities Bozeman is known for. Such as hunting and Bobcat football in the fall, skiing at the
local ski hill during the winter, fishing in the Gallatin River once the snow melts in the spring,
then mountain biking in the summer. Plus the many other activities tourists and locals enjoy all
throughout the year. But all the best cities have one thing in common. A professional sports
team.
The main problem faced by cities with minor league teams is that the cost of the stadium might
not produce enough revenue to make a profit. To Bozeman, it isn't a problem. Heros park is
already perfect for a minor league team. Its new renovation makes it up to MiLB standards. Of
course that makes Heros Park the home to 4 teams. The Bozeman Bucks AA, A, B and the
Minor league team. They would only share the field from the end of july through the beginning of
august. There are many ways of avoiding the problem of schedule clash. Schedule different
dates and if the only option is to have games on the same date then you can have one game in
the morning and one in the afternoon. And if it ends up becoming an issue then the lower
ranking team can play on one of the many other baseball diamonds around Bozeman.
Please take all this into consideration and put Bozeman's name in the next bid for an MiLB
team. I know that I speak for a large portion of the population in the Gallatin Valley when I say
that a professional baseball team will make summer nights better than ever.
Sincerely yours,
Jeremiah Gray
