SUBJECT: HRDC Submission for General Support.
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action
MEETING DATE: November 20, 2017
RECOMMENDATION: Release funding up to $77,560 to HRDC for general support.
BACKGROUND: On June 26, 2017, the Commission included in the FY18 Approved
Budget $77,560 earmarked for general funding for the Human Resource Development Council
(HRDC). Based on the motion and vote, the funding would not be released until the
Commission had received a proposal from HRDC that described information about its spending
and potential federal budget cuts. (The motion also described waiting until after the City’s final
mill value had been received, which occurred in August.) Attached is HRDC’s formal request
to release the funding.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The FY18 Approved Budget for the General Fund included
appropriations of $77,560 that were to be “held in reserve” until acted on by the Commission.
Approving the request will spend up to $77,560 in the current year’s General Fund.
