I'm writing in protest of the conditional use permit (CUP) application for 4149
Clydesedale. As a homeonwer in the Baxter Meadows West subdivision, I am a
proponent of upholding our Home Owner Association by-alws, which specifically does
not include cooperative housing.
I understand that Bozeman residents need to get creative when searching for
affordable housing, but Baxter Meadows has already incorporated affordable housingoptions in the apartments and townhouses on the west end of the subdivision. If this
CUP is approved, it will set a precedent for the entire City that will show that Single
Family Homes are no longer accurately named and Cooperative Housing is now the
standard. This will create problems for our degrading property values and for ourHome Owner Associations to enforce their conditions. We built our home in 2007 with
the assurance that this would be a neighborhood based on single family residences
and filled with families just like ours. I do not support changing those values.
To me, there is no benefit to allowing this CUP to pass, only degradation of our
neighborhood and other associated problems. Some short term issues such as
parking and neighborhood noise can possibly be justified and tolerated, but the long
term effects of this proposal cannot.
Please allow us to protect our investment in this subdivision and in our Single Family
Home by rejecting this CUP request.
