SUBJECT: Appointment(s) to the Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District (BTBID) Board MEETING DATE: November 13, 2017
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action Item RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to appoint up to two members to the Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board with terms ending July 31, 2021.
BACKGROUND: The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board has two vacant positions, one with an existing term expiring July 31, 2021 and one with an updated term expiring July 31, 2021. One member has reapplied, and two new applications have been received.
In August, 2009 the City Commission created the BTBID Board to manage the newly created District (Cht. 2.90, BMC). The mission of the Board is to promote tourism that generates room nights for lodging facilities in the city of Bozeman by effectively marketing the region as a preferred travel destination. The Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the City Commission, serving staggered four-year terms. Board appointees must either be a property owner
within the District or the duly authorized designee of an owner of property within the District. The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board currently has two vacant positions.
