Jansen - 4149 Clydesdale Court CUP for Cooperative HousingCity of Bozeman, I am writing to you today pertaining the conditional use permit application for 4149 Clydesdale Court CUP, File 17- 469. I understand that two families would like to live together in this single family home. While I think these families appear to be nice families, I’m just not sure our zoning ordinance needs to be changed or a project specific change needs to happen to accommodate them. I think allowing this permit would allow other conditional use permits that would be detrimental to the neighborhood like a sober living house for example. This type of CUP in Costa Mesa, CA PA-16-04 allows a sober living home with up to 13 occupants who are unrelated in a residential neighborhood. The people who occupy these homes are living there for treatment or recovery due to drug and alcohol addiction. While these two CUP’s might be very different from each other, if allowed it opens the door to many more CUP’s to accommodate peoples needs. The city needs to ask themselves: • Is the site adequate in size and shape to accommodate two large families? • Is the site adequate to handle the quantity and kind of vehicular traffic that would generate in such a small cul-de-sac and with different weather patterns? • Overburden water and sewer services? • Add noise and congestion? • Would it devalue or lower property values for the surrounding residents? Therefore, I personally feel that this project, as proposed, is not compatible with the surrounding neighborhood. I believe that the intensity of the use is too high. Please carefully consider some of these questions when making your decision. Thankyou, Robert and Robin Jansen Baxter Meadows Residents
