Ball - 4149 Clydesdale Court CUP for Cooperative HousingFrom:Teri and Dave Ball To:Chris Saunders; Agenda Subject:Public Notice for 4149 Clydesdale Court File 17-469. Date:Saturday, October 28, 2017 5:43:07 PM Public Notice- Reference 4149 Clydesdale Court CUP, File 17-469 My husband and I purchased a lot and built a home in Baxter Meadows just over eight years ago. Atthe time we purchased our lot, the Baxter Meadows Development was sold as a Planned UnitDevelopment that would include condominiums, zero lot line homes, patio homes, and homes withlarger lots. It also included a commercial section that included mixed use buildings with businesseson the ground floor and housing above, like the Traker Building. When the economy collapsed adeveloper requested that the B-2 area of the neighborhood be rezoned to R4 (the densest housing). The City Commission approved the request and we now have many apartments on the east side ofthe neighborhood. It provides a large amount of affordable housing to Bozeman residents. When you purchase a home in the city you expect that the city will honor its zoning and protect yourinvestment. That did not occur in Baxter Meadows. The above-mentioned CUP request is being made so that two families can share a single-familyhome in a single family residential cul-de-sac. These two families would include two couples and sixchildren for a total of 10 people in one home with four cars. The number of automobiles will rise asthe children become old enough to drive. I’ve walked by when there when were four cars out frontand already it doesn’t work. I support affordable housing and believe that we, as a neighborhood, have done our part to furtherthis need with the many apartments that have been built. I’m hoping that the Commission will alsoprotect the remaining business zoning and mixed-use zoning that is left on the east side of BaxterMeadows. I don’t believe that this CUP should be approved, we should preserve the single-family dwellings andprotect the investment that people living in Baxter Meadows single family housing have made. Please vote No on this request. David and Teri Ball 2278 Riata Road Bozeman, MT 59718
