Subject: Black Olive, Thank you for your leadership
Dear Commissioners and Mayor Taylor,
Thank you for your patience and leadership with regard to thedecision you will make likely make tonight.
Certainly you have heard from our community and I would only note
that though the furor over the project has been intense from theopponents we are at this point because many before you invested
their time and energy over decades to come to the conclusion thatinfill in our downtown B3 zone was best for this city. The volunteers
and community leaders that had this vision were careful to ensure itdid not occur in a bureaucratic or community vacuum. Those close
to this issue now know that you are not nor have you ever been
beholden to developers.
I hope as you wrestle with your decision that you can look beyondthe white hot moment and know that you can execute a vision and a
plan that this city and this region need now more than ever.
